Do you ever feel like your prayers for the people you love are a little empty or dull? Asking the same things over and over starts to feel repetitive. But God encourages us to be persistent, even repetitive in prayer! (See the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18.)
Sometimes we find ourselves focusing on the momentary, rather than the eternal in our prayers. God loves to hear about and care about the details in our lives, but don’t forget to pursue God’s eternal kingdom in your prayers as well!
And sometimes we find ourselves focusing on the behavior, rather than the heart, particularly in our children. We may be tempted to pray, “God, help him stop lying.” Maybe we can tweak it and say, “God, help him value the truth” instead!
In the video above, you can learn how I pursue God’s heart for my prayers for my children and other loved ones. Give it a try!
What a blessing and help, Kendra! Our Lord is using you in many special ways through your blog ~~ and in other wonderful ways as well.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Linda! I’m glad to hear that it was a blessing for you!
