Spicy Tomato Cream Pasta

This pasta comes together fast on a weeknight and tastes like gourmet comfort!

Ingredients

  • 16 oz farfalle pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb hot Italian sausage (or mild)*¼
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup red wine (optional)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp basil
  • ½ tsp rosemary
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to package directions.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook, stirring, until browned.
  • Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring.
  • Add the wine, diced tomatoes, basil, and rosemary. Heat and stir. If you have time, you can let this simmer for 5-10 minutes. If not, move on to the next step.
  • Add cream and stir.
  • Add the sauce to the drained pasta. Top with parmesan for serving.

Notes

*Using hot Italian sausage makes a spicy dish. For mild, use mild Italian sausage. For medium, use mild Italian sausage and add 1/4-1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes.
